The news of Henry Cavill leaving DC has made a pretty big impact on fans, but James Gunn has answers.
While fans may love Cavill to play Superman, Gunn's new project just won't sit right with him.
DC Studios' new head, James Gunn, revealed that he is working on a new Superman movie, and it will focus on the early stages of the character.
He tweeted, "Peter and I have a DC slate ready to go. Among those on the slate is Superman."
He added, "In the initial stages, our story will be focusing on an earlier part of Superman's life, so the characters will not be played by Henry Cavill."
While a fan asked Gunn, "Please tell me this isn't an origin movie."
Gunn replied, "No way."
As heartbreaking as the news of Henry Cavill parting ways with DC is, there's still a lot of speculation on who will be taking up the Superman's mantle as James Gunn writes a young Superman story.
By removing Cavill, Gunn is taking a huge risk, as fans will bash both him and the studio left and right if the next Superman project doesn't sit well.
