Dictionaries are used by everyone, Well at least for some, but Oxford Dictionary holds a special place.
After two weeks of voting and nearly 300,000 votes, We now have the most searched and used dictionary word.
Oxford Dictionary announces "Goblin mode" as the winner of 2022.
What Does Goblin Mode Mean?
It is a slang term defining a type of behavior which is unapologetically self-indulgent, lazy, slovenly, or greedy, typically in a way that rejects social norms or expectations."
Even though the term Goblin mode came out first in 2009, The word spread like wildfire during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The second place for the word of the year will be pretty interesting to see.
"Metaverse" is actually the runner-up for Oxford Dictionary's word of the year.
