Scottish journalist and editor Gordon Smart debuts on Good Morning Britain as a presenter on December 29.
Smart has hosted shows on BBC Radio Scotland, talkSport, and Radio X and was the youngest editor of The Sun's Bizarre Showbiz column at age 42.
He witnessed the tragic helicopter crash at the Clutha bar in Glasgow in 2013.
Smart will present alongside Charlotte Hawkins on December 29 and 30 while regular hosts Kate Garraway, Ben Shephard, and Susanna Reid take a break.
Good Morning Britain airs on ITV1 and ITVX at 6 am on weekdays and can also be streamed live on the ITV Hub or watched on TV.
Smart announced his new role on Twitter and received congratulations from fellow celebrities, Martin Compston and Iain Stirling.
He is excited to join the "amazing stable of talent" on Good Morning Britain and discuss important issues facing the country.
