Just after Henry Cavill's return to the DCU in Black Adam, the recent news was official as he leaves the DC Universe.
Henry Cavill confirmed on Instagram with a note to the fans regarding his departure
Cavill wrote, "I will not be returning as Superman. After being told by the studio to announce my return back in October, Prior to their hire, this news isn't the easiest, but that's life."
He added, "The changing of the guard is something that happens. I respect that. James and Peter have a universe to build. I wish them and all involved with the new universe the best of luck."
The new DC head, James Gunn, also shared this news on Twitter.
He tweeted, "Peter and I have a DC slate ready to go. Among those on the slate is Superman."
He added, "In the initial stages, our story will be focusing on an earlier part of Superman's life, so the characters will not be played by Henry Cavill."
While this news was tough for Henry, Fans are enraged as they cancel HBO Max subscriptions and trend #FireJamesGunn.
