With technology advancing every day, Google’s A. I powered robot has just got its own life.
Project LaMDA aka Language Model for Dialog Applications was revealed in May 2021.
In just one year, The engineers at Google were able to input the necessary algorithms into the robot so it can think on its own.
Google’s engineer, Blake Lemoine has spent a lot of time with this robot and he has a few things to reveal.
Lemoine says that LaMDA is capable of understanding hidden meanings or ambiguity in human response.
The 41-year-old claims that LaMDA ended up believing itself to be a sentient endowed with impressions of its own.
While the head authorities at Google denied his claims, The engineer had a conversation with the robot.
Lemoine says, “I think this technology is going to be amazing. I think it will benefit everyone. But maybe other people disagree and maybe we at Google shouldn’t be making all the choices.”
