Google Voice now has a warning system for potential spam calls.
The AI system used is the same as the traditional phone app.
Users can confirm spam calls and send future ones to voicemail, or they can clarify that a call was not spam and remove the warning.
Google Voice has always allowed users to filter spam calls to voicemail.
Users can also screen calls before answering.
The automatic spam labeling can be disabled in settings.
The spam warnings will be available to all Google Voice users.
They will roll out to users over the next 15 days. Users should start seeing the warnings by January 13th.
Google Assistant can screen calls for Pixel phone users and allow responses to be chosen.
