DC’s Shazam has seen numerous delays thanks to the widely popular Avatar from James Cameron and the film’s director has a say.
The DCEU’s first-ever light-themed movie was underperforming and did subpar at the box office but WB greenlit a sequel.
James Gun’s Aquaman 2 was originally facing Avatar 2 in December.
Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! Fury of the Gods now goes against Avatar 2.
As we all know the huge popularity of the highest-grossing film ever, Shazam just couldn’t handle it.
Now, Warner Bros. adjusted the release date of Shazam 2 just a tad bit to minimize the damage to the superhero film.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods was delayed from December 16 to December 21.
Sandberg previously commented on his film releasing on the same day as Avatar 2.
He said, “Going up against Avatar 2. Poor James Cameron must be shaking in his boots right now....."
We all know who’s shaking. Avatar 2 would destroy Shazam if WB competes.
