After cancelling a couple of CW shows, Fans thought it would be the end but Chairman Mark Pedowitz reveals that CW is sticking with superheroes.
As you might already know, CW’s Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman were cancelled recently.
While Legends of Tomorrow had upto 7 seasons under its belt, Batwoman just has 3 seasons.
In a new press meet, Chairman & CEO, Mark Pedowitz said, “We're staying in the superhero business.”
He added, “We are staying working with Greg Berlanti, who has masterminded creatively The CW DC Universe." However, We're not as robust as we were in the past, but still very much there.”
He also said, “We started with one this was Arrow 10 years ago, we have now moved to create a whole bunch of superheroes. And we're proud of it and we plan to stay in that business.”
Regarding the Discovery and WB merger, Here’s what he revealed.
Pedowitz said, “No matter what the outcome is, with any event of sale or no sale, I think the Warner Bros. realizes the value of having these properties up.”
He added, “DC Comics realizes the value of what it does to their marketability, in terms of what these franchises are."
