Exciting New Solo Levelling Update From Aniplex Online Fest 2022

Solo Levelling’s new teaser was unveiled to the audience at the Aniplex Online Fest 2022!

Only I Level Up is a celebrated webtoon and web novel that began its journey in 2016. The comic has five novels, and the last chapter wrapped up in December last year. D&C Media is in charge of licensing and publishing the series. Just like the male protagonist, Solo Leveling has seen a limitless rise in sales and continues to grab the eyes to this day.

A trailer (initially revealed in July) was visible for the audience gathered at the Aniplex Fest held today. The event also exhibited two PVs depicting the MC before and after his transformation. You can watch the trailer below.

🔥 L'anime SOLO LEVELING est toujours prévu pour 2023.
A-1 Pictures est en charge de l'animation.

As you can see from the clip, the male protagonist’s name has been changed to a localized one, i.e., Shu Mizushino. In the original web novel and the comic that came after, Sung hails from Korea, and a few Japanese hunters are shown to be villainous. It is safe to say that anime may make specific changes to play well with a few countries. What Sung will represent in the show is a question many fans ask; so far, we haven’t had a definite answer.

This will undoubtedly receive mixed reactions from viewers. However, before we judge A-1 Pictures for making these alterations, let us wait for the anime to air and decide whether it’s fabulous or disappointing.

About Solo Levelling

Also translated as Only I Level Up, this story follows the tale of rookie hunter Sung Jinwoo who is E-ranked and is considered one of the weakest individuals by all around him. By luck, his party comes across a terrifying Double Dungeon that wreaks havoc against his mates, leaving the survivors traumatized. Jinwoo is chosen as the one who plays by the rules and gets an ability called the “System,” which allows him to progress faster than all other hunters.

To defend humanity against monsters and more sinister figures, Jinwoo starts leveling up by clearing dungeons and becomes a proficient necromancer. He gains the power to summon the spirits of those killed or defeated by his hand.

Over time, he turns into the most formidable hunter with astronomical skills. Caught between an ancient war involving the Rulers (questionable protectors of humanity) and the Monarchs (cruel demons), Sung must triumph against all odds and reign at the top.

The web novel was written by Chugong and ran from 2016 to 2018 on Kakaopage. Jang Sung-Rak (Dubu) worked on the illustration of the webtoon till his death due to a cerebral hemorrhage that occurred this year.

Though an exact release date has been announced, Solo Levelling will air on Crunchyroll in 2023.

How do you think the staff reacted when they read the comic or the web novel? Do you believe Solo Leveling will deliver once it premiers in 2023? What are your thoughts on the rumored nationality change? This level is cleared, and I must head towards the next one in the dungeon. Ciao folks, and keep your fingers crossed.
